Dear members,

All the best to our MG community in 2026.

There are already many things on the MG programme, nationally and internationally.

First up is our New Year’s walk at the end of January in Bertrange, which this time starts with a meal at the restaurant, followed by the walk at around 2 p.m. We’re trying a different format this time, as it’s difficult to find a restaurant that will accommodate us from 4.30 pm and whose kitchen opens earlier.

At the beginning of March, we have our Keelen afternoon at Koeppe Jëmp, and in mid-March our General Assembly at the CNVH in Diekirch. Our spring tour and our “technical day” are also already in the planning stages; you can see we are busy putting together a great programme for you.

Unfortunately, however, there are also a few people who do not wish to continue their work on the committee, and so here is my appeal once again to anyone interested in helping with the organisation and joining our team. We especially need a treasurer and one or two members who can bring a fresh impetus to the committee with their great ideas.

The year 2027 will also be an important year for us, as that is when we will celebrate the club’s 70th anniversary. We are already in the planning stages for this and could urgently do with a few helping hands. We meet a maximum of once a month, and never more than 10 times in a whole year. I hope you feel inspired to join us on the committee, so that we can continue to bring you many more fantastic events.

This year, there is also an event for the younger members of our community (aged 17 to 38). The European Event of the Youth has been running since 2024. The Youth Section of the MG Club de France has launched this event. Last year it was held in England and this year it will take place in Luxembourg. Nina Rommes is organizing it and will welcome around 35 cars (with around 60 young people) in Perlé in July 2026. It’s a weekend of camping, a rally and visits for an affordable price of €150 per participant. Registration opens on 15^th January 2026. We hope that our Luxembourgish youth will also be well represented. You can follow all the information on Instagram, where you will also find the documents to register. The EEOTY 2026 in Périgord is already fully booked. However, there is another international event organised by the MG Car Club Germany on the same weekend (where there are still places available): the “Internationales Pfingstmeeting” in Kirchheimbolanden in the Nordpfalz. It’s well worth being involved; it’s a lovely event with scenic drives and visits. Do take a look at mgcc.de, they have plenty of great events to choose from.

So, that just leaves me to wish you all a great MG year, with one or more MGs that run well and bring you nothing but joy. We’ll certainly see each other at one Noggin’ and Natter or another, at our general assembly or on our technical day.

This year, our New Year’s hike will take place on 25 January in Bertrange. As it is difficult to find a restaurant that opens early enough, this year we will eat first and then go on our New Year’s hike.

The restaurant we have chosen is ‘Am Bureck’, 3 rue de Luxembourg in 8077 Bertrange, with a car park on the other side of the road.

For the hike, we will meet at 2:30 p.m. in the car park on the CR 163 between Bertrange and Leudelange, Sentier Ënnescht Bësch.

Reserve your places now by emailing Petra de Bruxelles at pdebruxelles@hotmail.com. Please let her know how many people will be attending and what you would like to eat (starter and main course). You will receive information about the deposit in your confirmation email – we also have to pay a deposit to the restaurant.

Choose your menu from the following options. The menu costs €37.50 and the restaurant will serve us a glass of Crémant.

Whit Monday Meeting of the MG Car Club Germany
