Electric M.G.'s in Luxembourg? MG Live not @ Silverstone?

The make M.G. (Modern Gentleman) belongs now to the group SAIC Motor Corporation. Already in 2016 SAIC LUX established a headquarter in the Grand Duchy (https://www.globalfleet.com/en/company/saic-europe) to start dealerships in Europe. On the picture from February, you see the new electric MGHS in the show room of Garage Reiter in Hosingen, who camouflaged the M.G. for test drives. Although this car is RHD, this garage will get a second one in LHD. During a first contact with our president Maathuis Guy, the sales manger revealed, that they were contacted by SAIC, who were looking for a small garage (instead of a big one, with several other car makes) to start a main dealership by 2020. The MGCCL is looking forward to see new M.G.'s sold in Europe again and to cooperate with this future M.G.-dealer! Sad news is coming from the UK, from this year on the annual meeting MG Live won't be held at Silverstone Circuit any more. The MGCC.co.uk is looking for alternatives, please read more here: https://www.mgcarclub.lu/events/mg-live/

Electric M.G.’s in Luxembourg?

Our make M.G. is these days part of the Chinese group SAIC MOTOR CORPORATION. At Nanjing Automotive the 2 letters stood in the years 2005-2006 for “Modern Gentleman”, but this mistake was re-corrected into “Morris Garages” again. Already in 2016 SAIC LUX established a main headquarter in the Grand Duchy (https://www.globalfleet.com/en/company/saic-europe) to start M.G.-dealerships in Europe.

Hosingen (LUX) / February 2019

On the picture, you see the new electric MG E-ZS in the show room of Garage Reiter in Hosingen, who are camouflaging the new M.G. for test drives. Although this car is RHD, this dealer will soon get a second E-ZS in LHD. During a first contact with our president Maathuis Guy, the sales manger revealed, that they were contacted by SAIC, who were looking for a small company (instead of a big one, with several other car makes) to focus on the make M.G. and start a dealership by 2020. The MGCCL is looking forward to see new M.G.’s sold in Europe again and is planing a prosperous cooperation with this future M.G.-dealer.
